Here are some of the ways that Young Learners Academy stands out…

  • MORE SCHOOL DAYS AT NO EXTRA COST  √

We found it helpful for families to mirror the San Ramon Valley Unified School District calendar as closely as possible, however this only amounts to 180 school days per year.  At YLA, we recognize these extra days off do not always match up with work schedules and it is often difficult to find coverage for your preschooler. We decided to first follow the school district calendar but also add in an extra days of preschool to our academic calendar year–extra days that many preschools do not offer.  What’s best of all is, while many preschools charge extra for any additional days that you need coverage beyond the base academic calendar, at YLA, our regular tuition rate builds in these extra days at no extra cost!

  • OPEN LONGER SO THAT WE CAN MEET YOUR FAMILY’S NEEDS  √

Many preschools condense their school day into a schedule that is not always convenient for parents.  At YLA, we recognize that each family’s schedule is different and accommodate morning drop-offs and end of the day pick-ups that align with your schedule.  That’s why we scheduled our school to open at 7:00 a.m. every day and stay open until 6:00 p.m.

  • LUNCH PROGRAM  √

Most preschools do not have the capacity and equipment to offer a regular lunch program for their students.  We know that packing a healthy lunch for children can sometimes be a daunting task among the many other responsibilities that families have; therefore, we offer our lunch program as an option to take one more stress off of our families’ plates.

  • HEALTHIER SNACKS  √

While it is convenient that schools provide snacks for children, in our experience, many schools regularly provide nutritionless, carbohydrate-dense, processed foods for snacks.  At YLA, we focus on delivering clean ingredients and organic snacks to our children.

  • MULTIFUNCTIONAL ACADEMIC PROGRAMS  √

At YLA, we choose academic programs that are multifunctional. For example, we use “Handwriting Without Tears,” which was developed by an occupational therapist and is designed to develop not just a child’s handwriting skills, but also their fine motor and visual skills through fun and interactive activities. Similarly, “Zoo-phonics” is a multisensory language arts program with a multi-modal approach to learning all aspects of language arts, including vocabulary development and articulation, based on phonics and phonemic awareness.

  • WE ARE A COMMUNITY  √

YLA is a program run by two moms who believe preschool should be a community!  Moreover, we recognize that it takes a village to raise a child and we aim to be a part of your child’s village.  We seek to have our preschool be a place which exudes love and warmth, where families feel that they are dropping off their child each day with people who genuinely care about and love their child.
